Probably the most important decision to make with respect to the music at your wedding or other event is the size and nature of the ensemble that will be performing. An Array of Strings can accomodate your needs from a full string quartet to a solo instrumentalist. In addition, we not only offer the typical combination of bowed strings, but also a lovely duet of classical guitar and violin.
Below, we look at most of the combinations we can provide, discuss what each has to offer, and provide musical snippets featuring our performers so that you can compare the sounds of the each group.
As you will note below, there are several factors at play in deciding upon the group to play at your event. One factor we caution against assigning to much weight is the volume of the sound. For example, while a string quartet will be louder than a string trio on average, it will not be significantly so, especially if a quality amplification system is available.
As a final note, if you have interest in a particular combination that is not shown below, please feel welcome to inquire as to what we might provide. For example, a solo violin is a frequent request, and the guitar and cello can sound particularly pleasant together.
